Dawson Creek & District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to inform you that the employer application period for the 2022 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program is now officially open. Not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers, and private sector employers with 50 or fewer full-time employees can now apply for funding to hire a young Canadian to work in their team. Applications can be submitted until January 25, 2022. By hiring youth over the summer months, employers are providing youth with the resources and opportunity to gain valuable employability skills and experience, making them more ready to excel in the workforce.
The annual call for applications for the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program is open. Employment and Social Development Canada will be accepting applications until January 25, 2022. For CSJ 2022, the Government has committed to create 100,000 CSJ jobs for youth to help ensure that the program remains responsive to the employment needs of youth and employers. In 2022, CSJ is returning to its regular parameters and will offer quality jobs over the summer months. Applicants are able to seek funding to hire youth (people aged 15-30 years) between April 25, 2022 and September 3, 2022. Work placements must be full-time (30-40 hours per week) quality jobs with a minimum duration of six weeks and a maximum of 16 weeks. Approved employers from the not-for profit sector will be eligible for a wage subsidy reimbursement of up to 100% of the provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage. Approved public and private sector employers will be eligible to receive a wage subsidy reimbursement of up to 50% of the provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage.
