Job description

The City is seeking to hire enthusiastic Recreation Program Instructor(s) to assist with the delivery of recreation programs. Under the direction of the Recreation Manager, Community Services Coordinator or designate, the Recreation Program Instructor is responsible for the site supervision and delivery of a variety of recreation activities such as but not limited to: gym-monitoring, drop-in programs, sport programs, and sport camps. They will work with limited supervision and, on occasion, supervise other staff. Shifts vary Saturday to Friday.

Qualifications and Experience

Successful candidates will have experience in specific programs and the ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity. A current Occupational First Aid (OFA)Level 1 with CPR C and AED certification and Driver’s License is required. The successful applicants will be required to complete and submit a Criminal Record Search with a Vulnerable Sector, the results of which must be satisfactory to the City. Successful applicants must have the ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members, and have the ability to perform all duties in a safe manner following established procedures.
