Job description

The position of Manager, E&I Operations ; Dawson Creek Branch is to oversee the day to day operations of the division of the branch, in cooperation with E&I managers at all other Control Tech branches, Warehousing teams and Administrative services. The Manager, will also participate in the long-term goals and objectives of Control Tech Dawson Creek.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Act as a customer contact at branch level for client inquires; field correspondence from clients and respond appropriately.

• Business development; Management of key business relationships and develop new business in Dawson Creek and other areas through regular sales calls/visits, attendance at industry events, maintaining positive community relations.

• Attend weekly Monday All Branch meetings.

• Support branch level safety leadership (ensure employee / subcontractor compliance with safety legislation including certification standards, participated in health and safety committee, promote a safety focused culture).

• Lead round table branch level team discussions to proactively address employee relations and promote team building.

• Manage attendance (coordinate employee vacation and other leave requests and scheduling, return to work arrangements, etc.).

• Assist in project management (scheduling technicians, participation in kickoff meetings, needs for upcoming / ongoing projects are met efficiently, perform site inspections / visits to ensure service quality, etc.); Assist with bidding and estimating.

• Help with job bids.

• Site tours.

• Working with the Estimating department and close out meetings.

• Coordinate and communicate internal manpower sharing with admin and other branches as required.

• Review invoices and ticketing.

• Assist Purchaser with sign offs of stock transfer sheets as required.

• Anticipate and meet staffing needs; assist in hiring of new employees and sub-contractors.

• Complete Employee Action Forms as required and communicate actions / changes with branch admin staff.

• Ensure the effective training and development of electrical employees and sub-contractors.

• Manage performance and employment relationship of electrical employees and sub-contractors.

• Review and sign off of eCompliance forms in the safety bullet

• Provide field coverage as needed.

Qualifications and Experience


• Certified Journeyman with Inter-provincial certification
• 5+ Years Field Experience is required
• Demonstrated leadership skill set; ability to build and maintain strong teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to establish positive, professional relationships
• Ability to anticipate needs, determine and implement solutions, and provide results that benefit the organization
• Ability to manage confidential information ethically
• Organized, analytical and strong attention to detail
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, attending industry events, and involvement in professional associations
• Ability to travel

Skills and Abillities
