NENAS, a non-profit, has been developing and delivering economic and social development programs for over 30 years. We offer holistic, wraparound services to our First Nations and Urban communities in Northeastern BC.

We are seeking a creative and motivated Employment and Training Case Manager to join our team of professionals in providing vocationally-related services. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to think outside the box. A plus would be if you had case management and employment counselling experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide solutions-oriented employment counselling, and job search activities
  • Case File Management, services including intake assessments and evaluations
  • Entering information and maintaining client data into the Accountability and Resource Management System (ARMS)
  • Meet with clients to obtain employment history, educational background, and career goals
  • Assess client's needs by identifying barriers to employment and assisting clients with job readiness, job search strategies, writing resumes, preparing for job interviews, and maintaining employment
  • Compiling and maintaining up-to-date career, labour market, and employment readiness resources to assist clients with applying for job openings, entry and skill requirements, and other occupational information

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Minimum grade 12 education; post secondary degree or qualification in career counselling or within the field of career education, with at least two years of employment counselling and/or case file management experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional customer service delivery and client-centered care
  • Solid written and verbal communication
  • Committed to achieving goals and objectives
  • Critical thinking skills, judgement, discretion, and maintaining strict confidentiality, with good organizational, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Adhere to professional standards and best practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture, and experience in a First Nations environment is desirable
