Job description

The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a casual Arena Attendant to work on a casual, as needed basis. Under the general supervision of the Arena Foreman and Parks & Facilities Manager or designate, this position performs a variety of duties related to the security, care and maintenance of the City Arena facilities, including service to the public and facility users.

Successful candidates will have completed Grade 10, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience, hold a Safety Awareness Ticket (Refrigeration) from a recognized organization, hold an Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level I Certificate, and possess a valid driver’s license. Prior to commencing work, the selected candidates will be required to complete and submit a Criminal Record Check, the results of which must be satisfactory to the City.

After a brief training period, work will be available on an “as needed” basis. Under the current Collective Agreement, casual employees are expected, as a condition of continued employment, to work at least two (2) shifts per month, if and when such shifts are offered by the Employer. Shifts may range from one shift to full-time hours (40 hours per week), so flexibility is required.
