The Job Search Services project (JSS), under the sponsorship of the Halifax Regional CAP Associaton, is committed to preserving the privacy of all visitors to the Job Search Services web site.This page explains our Web Site Privacy Policy and the practices that we have undertaken to ensure that your private information remains private. We encourage you to read it.
Our Obligation to You
Job Search Services is bound by contract to Employment Nova Scotia (our primary funder) to treat any personal information that we receive from you in accordance with the federal Privacy Act.

How JSS Collects and Uses Information
Anonymous Browsing
When you visit the Job Search Services web site, our server automatically logs information about your visit:
- The type of browser, screen resolution and operating system used to access our site
- The date and time of your visit
- If you found our site through a link from another site, then the address of the original site is collected
- The pages that you visited and length of time spent on each
- IP number: this is the address automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet
Data gathered from Anonymous Browsing is used to accumulate statistics that help us to improve our site, and to ensure that our site meets the technical needs of our visitors. IP addresses will not be used to identify an individual, unless an unauthorized attempt to upload, modify or otherwise cause damage to our site is detected.
Personal Information Submitted Via Form or Email
If you send us personal information through our Online Job Coach or Contact Forms, or send us your resume for a Resume Critique, Job Search Services will make every reasonable effort to safeguard your information. However, it must be noted that email communication is not necessarily secure. If you are including sensitive information of any kind, such as a SIN number, you may do so by mail or in person to:

Any personal information that you include in our online forms or emails is used strictly to answer your question, respond to your comments, or provide feedback on your resume. We do not share, sell or lease this information to any other company or organization.
Job Search Services is contracted by Employment Nova Scotia to collect personally identifiable information (name, SIN, address,etc.) in certain situations. In those cases, you will be told what the information is being collected for, with whom we will be sharing it, and you will be asked specifically for your permission to do so. If you choose to withhold consent, you will still receive the same services as people who provide their consent.
